Singha Loud! is at it again on Wednesday, October 8 with a rockabilly and garage showdown starring the Arkhams and The Royal Lowkick Manah. This time we’ll have more DJ and Dance time with DJ Hiromu of the Rebel Night parties spinning pure rockabilly while DJ Durian kicks in with a loud, fuzzy garage punk set.

Friday Night Fights kick off the fall season with a roundup of fighters all bound for glory. We’ll see the return of Chris “Mr. Classic” Romulo, and if you’ve been following the FNF series, he’s been training for 14 months getting ready to prove his one loss wrong.
Selling you TVs at Best Buy by day and kicking your fat ass by night, Ognjen Topic’s shins of steel goes toe to toe with his biggest contender, Kittisak Noiwibon.
Kittisak Noiwibon, 35-8-1, was born and raised in Thailand callusing his shins by kicking coconut trees and tires on old pick up trucks. He competes for the first time in the US, and I don’t think he’s going to give a shit about who’s ass he’s kicking.
Other fighters appearing on the card include:
Liam Tarrant, Lasheem Richardson, Jenny Foster, Chellemar Bernard, Rommel Malaban, Kingley Opako, Angel Garcia, William Whitt, and probably some more added on as of date.
The Singhas will be served in the cool, white cans with the ‘export only’ stickers you can peel off to see the hidden message…
So an American expatriate living in Tokyo reviews a wine from Thailand. That statement might make you take the review with a grain of salt, but the review is for www.eRobertParker.com and the writer is a part-time wine educator for Tokyo’s Academie du Vin…sound convincing yet?
Here’s her review:
Siam Winery Monsoon Valley White 2007
Thailand
Retail price: 1365 yen

This wine is made predominately from the locally grown Malaga Blanc grape, which judging purely from tasting, I suspect is not entirely vinifera. Nonetheless, while the presumably hybrid nose / flavors are unusual they’re also appealing. There is an unique, medicinal, somewhat eucalyptus aroma to this wine complimenting the lemon and savory seaweed nuances. The light to medium bodied palate has crisp acidity balanced by a touch of residual sugar (though still a dry style). Medium finish. This could go very well with Asian cuisines and I for one can’t wait to taste a bottle with a plate of Pad Thai or a bowl of Tom Yum soup. Drink now. Tasted August 2008.
Pretty nifty. Read the reviewers other top Tokyo wine picks here.
So, fist we’ll have DJ Shit Yousef throwing down some misanthropic punk tracks that’ll make your bowels drop heavier than a raving GG Allen on laxatives. That’s at 8pm until the first band goes on.
First up is the Kung Fu Monkeys caressing your ears with sweet, melodic bubble gum pop that’s so lovable, you’ll forget how to hate. You can probably stop wars with just one of their 7″s. yes, you can! And it’s said this performance is their first American gig in 3 years! So come on out of that closet!
Next we’ve got the Lost Locker Combo. A super group of sorts comprising of more than a dozen rotating members, each with a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to three-chord, kick-your-butt-and-make-fun-of-you school of rock! A giant reference book of pop punk in matching red sweaters, these cats will teach you the 101s of pogo dancing.
To cake off the night are The Unlovables. They’ve got power, they’ve got pop, they’ve got punk. They are the toughest girl power pop band on the block. Yes, there will be girls here! so comb your hair, put on your dancing shoes and leave home to go to the show!
After the bands, DJ Shit Yousef will clean himself up and do it all over again with a set of punk songs spanning the gamut of garage to grime.
Take the L train Bedford and go down N. 6th until you see the Singha!
So Singha has made it into the hands of 10 year old punks! in the form of a t-shirt anyway. he will learn of the crisp, sweet and malty body of beer soon enough.
